Love's Label

The idea for Love's Label took root in early 2009 at a party thrown by myself and Steve Mizek of LittleWhiteEarbuds. The party was called 25+25 and featured Tyrel Williams, bvdub, Stephen Hitchell aka Echospace, and Eric Cloutier on a massive sound system in a Logan Square coach house. John and Chris of Shifty Science, longtime friends of bvdub, showed up and we all went out for drinks before the show (bad idea!) - the discussion turned toward the idea of putting out a record of their tracks remixed by each other, and so LL#01 was born... though made not entirely "official" until a bit of manic, late-night inspiration some six months on.
I've always wanted to release music, but I've always wanted it to be done on my own terms: I wouldn't do it until I could pay for the production and release myself and I could have complete control over how, where, and most importantly, why the music goes out. The first and only piece of wax I'd ever been a part of as a musician was a 7" record by a thrash band in which I played bass and that was paid for with the singer's casino winnings and printed at one of the guitarist's screen-print shop. We did it because we had to, because aside from work and school, writing and recording for that band was all we really cared about. That is the why.
As the sole administrator of this label I am in a position to champion artists and music about which I care deeply. This is all that matters.
